Hi All

It is with some regret that we (the support team) can inform you that yesterday we have felt the need to remove the member bddeazeley from the forum.

The purpose of this post is because we feel that all of you should know the extent of the work that has been going on behind the scenes in the last few days, we have all spent time & effort not just discussing among ourselves, but several of us have had pm conversations with the member, trying to find a way that he can be included as a part of our forum, but last night we finally came to the conclusion that at present he just cannot seem to see things from an objective point of view, & he remains antagonistic, & as such he has been informed that due to breaches of several sections of the forum agreement, we have to remove his posting ability.

For a while, we left him the ability to read the forum, & if he wished he could pm any member of the support team including admin, but the only communication that any of us recieved was another insult towards a member, So his membership was terminated.

We are aware that some of you will think that this action was too late, that we allowed it to continue too long, All we can say to that is that we were trying desperately to bring it under control, the forum has been accused of bullying & "gang" tactics in the past, we were trying to avoid any of those feelings by doing all we could, on this occasion it was to no avail & we were proved wrong.

Finally we would just like to say to all, thank you for acting in the main with great restraint, it was good to see the members working together like a team & not a "gang", Thanks to all.

Your Support Team.

Much has been written about posting and the etiquette of posting. We all know there are rules to posting and these are available to all members and guests. If you are unfamiliar with these then please make yourself familiar with them. It should help with the decision making process as to whether you can say certain things or not. There is however more to posting than just adhering to the rules. It is important that every time you post you take into account possible interpretation from the person who is reading it. Also take into account the tone of the thread you are posting on. The easiest way to do this is to make sure you read the entire thread. Time consuming possible but definitely worth it. The forum is a fabulous place for sharing knowledge and for some for sharing personal experiences etc. As the forum grows and more and more people join in there are increased opportunities for disagreements and upsetting the harmony. This is natural and we have to deal with that.

On the forum we have a system of moderators, global moderators and admin. This system is designed to help with keeping things running smoothly. Moderators can take action when rules are broken and can help with the general administration of the forum by making sure posts are in the appropriate place etc. Undoubtedly though the best people to ensure that the forum remains harmonious are all the members – YOU. We cannot nor do moderators want to be Forum police. Wouldn’t it be great if their were no crimes to police?

I think this is achievable if everyone sees it that way. Yes we may always have a rogue element and this will be dealt with. Sometimes I think people post without reading what they have written or thinking about how people could interpret it. Is this the sole problem of the reader? I say it isn’t. I say that we can all try a bit harder to be more tone aware. Anyone who says I write what I want and it’s the problem of the person who reads it if they don’t like it is not only being a bit arrogant bit is also not considering the feeling of others therefore is selfish too. Read your post twice and read the post you are responding to twice before you click to post it. Knee jerk reactions to posts generally offer a kick rather than a fully considered and well thought out response. I’d think the second option would be more of the desired response we would all want to offer.

If you want to bite back at a post re-read it and see if your bite is necessary. Seems that recently there have been times when by not taking the bait may have been the preferred option. If you don’t take the bait then maybe the bait will stop getting thrown in. Maybe then the fisherman will change the bait but as a clever fish you can identify that and leave it alone again. Soon the fisherman will move to another spot and fish for different prey. All a fisherman wants is to catch fish and he/she will use the bait required to do that. If on this forum all the highly developed fish are wise to the fisherman’s ploy then we will have a pond full of big fish where fishermen never visit because they can’t catch their prey. That sounds good to me. I like the idea of hungry fishermen moving onto other places because we have outsmarted them. Anyone else like that idea?
